Description
Grey Street
Named for the hauntingly beautiful Dave Matthews song, Grey Street is a fun coal type grey. Working with yarn for so long, I have found that grey colors are not what they seem on the surface. A grey can be blue-grey, violet-grey or green-grey. Grey Street is my best attempt at one that walks the line (No Johnny Cash song pun intended). The undertone is pretty hidden in this one, and it picks up a multitude of colors very well.
This is a tonal colored yarn that has some light and darker spots. It would create a lot of interest in something like a cardigan or a hat. I can see some beautiful fingerless gloves in this as well. As I said, it will pair well with a TON of colors, so you can’t go wrong if you are trying to match colors in a multi-colorway project.
I can very much see this knit into a LYS by Andrea Mowry or crochet into the Jayda Cardigan by Michelle Ferguson.
* A little about my colorways: I name all of my colorways for song or lyrics. Music is a huge love of my life, as are the fiber arts. If you aren’t sure what lyric or song the yarn gets its name from, it is kind of fun to go take a listen or to look up the artist. 🙂
